The American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act contains many provisions
stressing transparency in the use of funding. This website http://www.oregon.gov/recovery/
will provide you with information regarding the use of funds in
Oregon.
It is our
intent to develop a local reporting system for our area to keep all
citizens informed, which will be available on our website as well as
the website of Community Services Consortium http://www.communityservices.us
Other sources of
information regarding these funds and state agencies can be found
at: http://oregon.gov/recovery/agency_links.shtml.
Some of the ARRA
funds have recently been made available in Linn, Benton and Lincoln
Counties. These funds are dedicated to providing services to citizens
in need of employment, education, and training.
The Workforce Investment
Board’s WorkSource Partners, Community Services
Consortium, the Oregon Employment Department, Department of Human Services,
Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Linn-Benton Community
College, and Oregon Coast Community College, are currently developing
plans to utilize these funds to provide services to job seekers, dislocated
workers, and youth.
It is our intent
to update our local information every two weeks. The reporting
section below is currently under development. Through the Workforce
Investment Board's WIA service provider, Community Services Consortium,
we are ready to act now.
We plan to
invest the funds quickly and wisely; expand and augment current offerings;
invest heavily in skills and post-secondary training; and be ready to
report back to Congress and the public regarding the return on their
investments (program performance, outcomes, etc.).
